Falls Church Arts is offering a photoshop class and a portrait workshop this weekend.

The photoshop class will be held on Saturday, Jan. 11, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. with Arthur W. Pierson as instructor. This class is for all levels and will be held at ArtSpace Falls Church, 410 S. Maple Ave. The class is conducted on a large screen as the instructor reviews basic skills and simple approaches, answers questions, and demonstrates solutions on a large screen for all to see. Pierson has been a practicing commercial photographer for more than 30 years and has a degree in photography from Rochester Institute of Technology’s School of Photography.

Renown Falls Church artist Seth Haverkamp will be returning to Falls Church to teach a weekend portrait workshop on Saturday, Jan. 11, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 12, from noon – 6 p.m. at the Falls Church Community Center, 223 Little Falls St. Haverkamp’s unique style and talents as an instructor will be featured as he concentrates on large shapes to achieve a likeness and will use a limited palette, bringing new insight and results for students.
