3 Trails Linked to I-495 Overpasses Open

Last weekend, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) announced the completion of three bicycle and pedestrian trail extensions linking I-495 overpasses to existing trails at Braddock Road (Route 620), Little River Turnpike (Route 236), and Gallows Road (Route 650). Construction on the $550,000 project began in August 2013. The trails were built one location at a time, beginning with Little River Turnpike followed by Braddock Road and Gallows Road.

The links improve accessibility and safety in accordance with the Fairfax County master trail plan.
