Master Judge to Speak on Floral Traditions & Trends

Sandi Smith Piccirillo, a member of the National Garden Club National Flower Show Committee and a Master Judge, will speak on traditional and Ikebana floral designs as well as the latest trends in creative arrangements during the monthly program of the Rock Spring Garden Club on Thursday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m. at the Little Falls Presbyterian Church, 6025 Little Falls Road, Arlington.

Piccirillo attends flower design seminars throughout the country and is a national horticultural instructor for flower show schools and flower show procedure, as well as an instructor for landscape design schools, garden studies, and environmental schools.

Piccirillo, who is known for making floral design accessible, will give examples of how to interpret in simple terms the sometimes complex directions outlined in official floral design handbooks.

This event is free and open to the public, with an optional $5 lunch. Those interested in attending should RSVP by Jan. 9 at rockspringgardenclub.com or to rockspringgardenclub@gmail.com.
