All City of F.C. Garaged Cars Need New 2014 Decal

The City of Falls Church issued a reminder to , especially new residents, that all cars, trucks, and motorcycles normally garaged within the City must be registered and clearly display a 2014 green City decal. The City’s parking enforcement officer will ticket cars without decals properly posted on front windshields. The fine for failure to display a valid city sticker is $50. The new 2014 decals have been required since November 15.

Decals can be purchased in the Treasurer’s Office in City Hall, 300 Park Ave., in the East Wing. The fee is $33 a year for most vehicles. Separate fee schedules apply to trucks, motorcycles, taxicabs, and buses. The Treasurer’s Office mails the current year’s decals with the personal property tax bills each year.

Residents who have not received a 2014 green decal should check with the Treasurer’s Office for possible unpaid personal property tax. There is no fee for replacement decals. The Treasurer’s Office can be reached at 703-248-5046 or treasurer@fallschurchva.gov. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
