Drivers & Volunteers Needed for Local Shepherd’s Center

The Shepherd’s Center of McLean, Arlington, and Falls Church needs more drivers for an increasing number of seniors needing to get to and from medical and therapy appointments.

On Dec. 31, the organization SHARE will end its transportation program and the Shepherd’s Center will absorb the seniors who until now have been receiving rides from SHARE.

The center has a particular need for drivers in the southern part of its service area, South Arlington and the lower half of Falls Church.

The center also needs more volunteers willing to help with not only transportation but with event and program organization. Friendly callers for shut-ins are also needed, as are those who have fundraising backgrounds and are willing to help the center with efforts to raise money to fund its projects.

For more information, call the Shepherd’s Center at 703-506-2199.
