Mason Club to Collect Bikes for Donation Dec. 14

The George Mason High School Bike Club is hosting its second annual bike donation drive at George Mason High School next Saturday, Dec. 14. The club will accept bikes of all sizes, including those that are old or rusted, as long as they are able to be repaired.

The club has, for the second year, partnered with the nonprofit organization Wheels to Africa, which organizes bike donation drives in numerous high schools around the Washington, D.C. area. The donated bikes will be sent to countries in Africa. In previous years the bikes have helped students who everyday walk five miles to school to receive an education.

The donation drive will take place from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the junior parking lot of George Mason High School (next to the entrance on Haycock Road across from Giant).

George Mason High School is located at 7124 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church. For more information about Wheels to Africa, visit wheels-to-africa.org.
