Monday’s meeting of the Falls Church City Council marked the final day on the job at a public meeting for City Attorney John Foster, and Council members expressed their appreciation for his work having served in the position since 2008.

Foster will commence his new job as the Division Counsel for the Fairfax County Public Schools, the largest school division in the U.S. Foster was feted at a reception in his honor at the Ireland’s Four Provinces restaurant last Friday.

Meanwhile, the temporary counsel retained by the City to fill Foster’s shoes until a permanent replacement is retained has started already, with a representative of the law firm of Greehan, Taves, Pandak and Stoner sitting in at Monday’s meeting.
