Columbia Baptist 5K/3K to Raise Funds & Awareness to Fight Hunger

Columbia Baptist Church will host the Spend Yourself 5K Run/3K Walk through Falls Church City this Saturday, Nov. 23, to raise awareness and money to fight hunger.

The race will begin at 8 a.m., with a staggered start to avoid congestion on the Washington and Old Dominion Railroad Regional Park trail. The up-and-back 5K course is certified by USA Track and Field. From a start on Maple Avenue at the campus of Columbia Baptist Church, the course heads to the Little Falls Street entrance of the W&OD trail (at approximately mile marker 6) and then toward the turn-around at the bridge over Route 7 (mile marker 7). The finish is back at Columbia Baptist Church on Maple Street. The 3K walk follows the same course, but turns around after 1.5K.

Registration costs $35 for adults and $15 for children younger than 18, with an $80 family maximum cost.

Race proceeds will benefit Spend Yourself Hunger Ministries. Participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable canned and dry goods to donate to the Spend Yourself Food Pantry. Donations will be collected on race day.
