Longfellow Student Wins Anti-Tobacco Art Contest

Caroline Song, an eighth grade student at Longfellow Middle School, won first place in the grades 6 – 8 division of the American Academy of Pediatrics National Children’s Art Contest.

Song was awarded $500, and a matching amount will be sent to Longfellow.

The contest was based on the theme A World Free from Tobacco and Secondhand Smoke and invited children to submit original art conveying messages about the effects of tobacco. Entries were to be accompanied by a short essay describing what a tobacco-free world means to them.
