F.C. Planning Commission to Go Paperless?

The Falls Church Planning Commission was introduced to the idea of shifting from paper to electronic reports on site plan review matters at its meeting Monday night.

City Planning Director Jim Snyder made the overture, noting that printing costs for exhaustive site plan documents can go as high as $5,000 and take a full day to process. Other jurisdictions are reportedly moving in this direction, providing I-Pads to their officials to review documents that way.

Snyder said there will remain a few print copies for review if this policy is adopted, but not the number currently produced.
