F.C. Wins EPA ‘Green Power’ Recognition

The City of Falls Church has been recognized by the federal Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Green Power Partnership as a Green Power Community, the first in Virginia to earn that designation.

At the Oct. 28 City Council meeting, the City will mark this achievement and celebrate the contributions of community members. The Green Power Partnership is a voluntary program that encourages organizations to buy green power as a way to reduce the environmental impacts associated with purchased electricity use. To be designated as a Green Power Community, residents, businesses, and the local government must purchase or produce green power in amounts that meet EPA minimum purchase requirements set by community electricity usage.
