Fairfax Co. Schools Offers Workshops For Disability Awareness Day

The Fairfax County Public Schools Parent Resource Center will observe Disability Awareness Day next Friday, Oct. 25, by offering four workshops to help parents, educators, and citizens learn about working with individuals with disabilities. The events will be held from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Parent Resource Center, Dunn Loring Center for Parent Services, 2334 Gallows Road, Dunn Loring.

Workshops will include Building Resiliency, Strategies to Support Students with Dyslexia, Overview of a Personal Development Course, and Promoting Essential Life Skills: How to Build Executive Functions in Children.

The workshops are free and open to the public.

Disability Awareness Day is an opportunity for parents, education professionals, and community agencies and organizations to participate in an exchange of ideas, information, and resources for students with special needs.
