Effort for ‘Yes’ on Water Referendum Underway

Falls Church resident Carol Lofthur-Thun has agreed to spearhead an organized effort to promote a “yes” vote on the City of Falls Church referendum question on the upcoming Nov. 5 ballot. A vice-chair of the F.C. Citizens for a Better City, she said that “plans and a structure to advocate for passage of the referendum” involving the sale of the City’s water system to the Fairfax Water Authority is underway.

“We don’t have a lot of time left, but there is time to make a push in the last few weeks when people are more likely to be paying attention anyway,” Loftur-Thun told the News-Press Wednesday. Anyone interested in helping is encouraged to call her at (703) 346-5104 or e-mail her at carol.lofturthun@gmail.com.

A final public information forum on the water sale referendum will be held at the ArtSpace Falls Church, 410 S. Maple, on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 7:30 p.m.
