Past F.C. American Legion Commander Dies

Long time resident of the City of Falls Church and Greater Falls Church areas, Anthony (Tony) Scerbo died at age 96 on Sept. 16.

Scerbo, a masonry contractor by profession, was known for his service for over 60 years to military veterans in local and statewide communities through the American Legion, holding posts as Commander of Post 130, and the 17 District. Mr. Scerbo further served as Chair of the POW/MIA Committee, American Legion, Department of Virginia for over 30 years and more recently with the Greater Falls Church Veterans Council, since the dedication of the City of Falls Church Veterans Memorial. Other accomplishments include the re-dedication and public acknowledgment of the American Legion Bridge.
