City of Falls Church, VA Crime Report for September 9 – 15, 2013

Driving Under the Influence and Refusal to Submit to Blood or Breath Test, 500 block S. Washington St. On Sep. 9, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. The driver, Hugo Rivera-Maravilla, 32, of Fairfax, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and Refusal to Submit to Blood or Breath Test.

Larceny, 100 block E. Broad St. On Sep. 9, the victim reported a shotgun which was being sold by a licensed dealer was stolen sometime on Sep. 8 during the sales transaction.

Driving Under the Influence, 6700 block Wilson Blvd. On Sep. 10, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. The driver, Le G. Thai, 43, of the City of Falls Church, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

Larceny of Motor Vehicle Parts, 300 block Pennsylvania Ave. On Sep. 10, four tires were stolen from a vehicle sometime overnight.

Driving Under the Influence, 400 block E. Broad St. On Sep. 11, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. The driver, Iris M. Alvarado Gomez, 22, of Herndon, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

Aggravated Assault and Homicide, 6795 Wilson Blvd. (Eden Center) On Sep. 14, police responded to the area for a report of a fight in progress and shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found the body of an Asian male in the parking lot. The victim, Phuoc Huu Nguyen, 35, had a cut on his face and suffered at least one gunshot wound. Witnesses indicated that a fight broke out in the parking lot involving several people and then shots were heard.
