VietFest Returns Aug. 24 & 25 at Landmark Mall

The second annual VietFest 2013 will take place Aug. 24 and 25 at Landmark Mall in Alexandria.

After a successful first run of the Vietnamese heritage festival in 2012, VietFest 2013 will return with attractions, competitions, and family-friendly entertainment.

This year’s highlights include the Miss VietFest Pageant, VietFest’s Got Talent, the VietFest Fashion Show, the Ultimate Pho Cook Off, a lion dance, and a wedding parade.

Alongside the Vietnamese arts and culture exhibitions at Little Vietnam, there will also be games and activities, a moon bounce, and other carnival games at the Kids Corner. The event stage will feature traditional Vietnamese music from Vietnamese celebrities and local talents.

The event will take place at Landmark Mall’s Sears parking lot, located at 5801 Duke St., Alexandria. Saturday hours are 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. and Sunday hours are 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. One-day admission is $7, and free for children younger than 5 years and for attendees wearing full Vietnamese dress (áo dài).

The proceeds from event will strengthen the mission of NOVAL-DC and benefit the Vietnamese American community at large. For more information, visit vietfest.com.
