Petition Seeks Mobile Food Unit OK

A Falls Church woman seeking a license to operate a mobile food unit which she describes as a “taco cart,” is circulating a petition in Falls Church calling on City officials to amend the zoning code to address the matter of mobile food units. She says that she was told the zoning code simply does not address the issue in its current form.

“I would not be competing with brick and mortar restaurants in much the same way that Burger King does not compete with Argia’s as they cater to very different customer profiles,” Mary O’Donnell said. She adds that the Fairfax Health Department has inspected and licensed her cart, and that she has a food safety manager and food service manager’s card obtained after taking a certification course.

The petition can be found on line at https://chn.ge/1aqAh8f.
