The Little Giant flag football team triumphed over longtime champion The Jerk Squad last Sunday to win the DC Social Sports 7 on 7 Delayed Rush Co-Ed Flag Football league championship.
After defeating Big Richard and the Business, 38-7, the Little Giants moved on to the championship game.

The game went back and forth until the Little Giants were able to force two turnovers that earned them touchdowns in the second half. With four minutes left in the game, the Little Giants led 34-21.
The Jerk Squad had the ball and made a quarterback change. On the first play of the drive he threw a deep ball the length of the field resulting in a touchdown. After converting the extra point, the score was 34-28. The Little Giants’ next possession saw them drive into the red zone, but they were only able to run two minutes off of the clock. They faced a fourth down and goal on the five yard line. Player/Coach/Captain Ryan Larcamp called a time out and huddle where he and Quarterback Will Stewart drew up the next play. Needing to score a touchdown to make it a two possession game, The Jerk Squad lined up on the receivers on the outside. The ball was snapped and Stewart, instead of throwing it into the end zone, handed it off to Chrissy Metzmaier, catching everyone by surprise. She sprinted to the outside past three defenders and into the end zone. Unable to convert the extra point, the Little Giants led 40-28 with two minutes left. The Jerk Squad took the field, looking to score two quick touchdowns. On the first play their quarterback threw it deep again, but this time it was intercepted by Jimmy Piscopo, sealing the game.
