Mason Students Earn Honors in 2013 Awards Ceremony

The following scholarships, awards, and recognitions were given to George Mason High School students during the school’s awards ceremony last week:

Snee Scholarship; Ginger Fischer, Class of 2007 Unsung Hero Award; Alissa Forbes, Semper Fidelis Award; Anna Freeman, Dana Wood Memorial Scholarship; Nathan Frost, John Phillip Sousa Award; Evan Gorman, Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award and Scholarship; Christina Holman, Falls Church Donald S. Wollenberg Memorial Scholarship; Elinore McLain, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Math and Science Award and Virginia Declaration of Rights Award; Alexandre Misenheimer, Human Rights Award; Fae Montgomery, Falls Church Donald S. Frady Memorial Community Service Scholarship; Julianna Morrison, Mary and Warren Pace Future Educators Scholarship Fund and Phi Delta Kappa Prospective Educator Scholarship; Victoria Mynatt, League of Women Voters of Falls Church Award; Ryan Ogden, Franklin and Kent Thackrey Memorial Scholarship; Kevin Pereira Martinez, Grace Rissetto ESOL Scholarship; Joelle Randrianasolo, Randolph College Book Award; Drisana Sutch, Hoover Prize for Writing; Tyler Waters, Louis Armstrong Jazz Award; and Susannah Whittle, Society of Gentlemen Scholarship.

Additionally, Sterling Askin was named Outstanding Senior Boy and Christina Holman was named Outstanding Senior Girl; Preston Custer was named Outstanding Junior Boy and Maeve Curtin was named Outstanding Junior Girl; and Arijeet Sensharma was named Outstanding Sophomore Boy and Tara Holman was named Outstanding Sophomore Girl.

James Hickey was also recognized for his United States Military Academy Appointment, and Hannah Beaman, Liam O’Connell, and Honora Overby were recognized as National Merit Finalists.
