F.C. Scouts Speed Down Oak St. in Cubmobile Races

The 2013 Cub Scout Pack 657 Cubmobile Races were conducted this past Sunday, June 2, on Oak Street in front of Thomas Jefferson Elementary School. Approximately 30 Scouts in grades 2 – 4 participated – Wolves, Bears, and Webelos. Parents helped with starting and timing as well as registration and concessions, and the Falls Church Volunteer Fire Department provided a unit which was helpful in decompressing the Scouts from the rapid change in altitude caused by the race, which reached high speeds. Cubmaster Dan Maller reported that the Scouts have done this for many years, everybody had fun, and the street generally returns to its original shape before school starts on Monday morning. Pack 657 is sponsored by the Falls Church Presbyterian Church. (Courtesy Photo)
