Ceremony for Revolutionary War Officer to be Held at F.C. Episcopal

Members of the George Washington and Fairfax Resolves chapters of Sons of the American Revolution are holding a grave-marking ceremony this Saturday, June 8, at 10 a.m. at The Falls Church-Episcopal for Revolutionary War patriot Major Simon Sommers, one of the officers who signed the historic Valley Forge Oath of Allegiance in May 1778.

Sons of the American Revolution will be dressed in period attire, and historic walking tours of The Falls Church historic church and grounds will be available after the grave-marking ceremony.
