Three student award winners in the Falls Church Rotary Club’s essay contest were honored at a dinner at the Harvest Moon Restaurant last Thursday evening.

For their essays on the Rotary Four-Way Test, Cooper Middle School students Sophia Thompson and Tasmia Haq were awarded first- and second-place prizes of $75 and $50, respectively, and Jimmy Winner, a seventh grader at Trinity School at Meadow View, received $25 for third place.

Thompson read her essay at the dinner and her winning essay was forwarded to Northern Virginia Rotary District 7610 for judging in the district finals, where it will compete with essays from other District 7610 Rotary Clubs.
