Free Leaf Mulch Available at City of F.C.’s Recycling Center

The City of Falls Church Recycling Center is now offering free double-ground leaf mulch to City residents, non-residents, and business owners. Those interested may stop by the center between 7 a.m. and dusk, seven days a week with their own containers, shovels or pitchforks to haul away the mulch. Additionally, Public Works Operations staff will be available to load any open bed vehicle or trailer on Leaf Mulch Loading Day next Saturday, March 23, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. In the event of rain, the event will be held on April 6.

The leaf mulch that is available is the end-product of 5,700 cubic yards of leaves vacuumed from City streets in autumn.

The Recycling Center is located at 217 Gordon Road, Falls Church. For more information about the leaf mulch program, call the Solid Waste Hotline at 703-248-5160, option 6, or visit fallschurchva.gov/leafmulch.
