This coming weekend, the Homaira Rahman Foundation is hosting its first online flash fundraiser. Their goal is to raise $36,000 in support of the Homaira School in Kabul, Afghanistan. HRF is a non-profit humanitarian organization based in Merrifield that recognizes the need to preserve and protect a child’s right to unimpeded development with an emphasis on education. Their objective is to provide opportunities for orphans in Afghanistan.

The $36,000 HRF hopes to raise will go to supporting operating costs, books, food, and uniforms for The Homaira School, serving grades 1-6, during its critical first year. The school is scheduled to open in 2013.
