Obama Shops at N. Arlington Indie Bookstore

On “Small Business Saturday” last weekend, President Barack Obama and his daughters Sasha and Malia stopped in at the independent “One More Page Books” on N. Westmoreland St. adjacent the Chasin’ Tails restaurant within a few yards of N. Arlington’s boundary with the City of Falls Church.

They browsed for 20 minutes, chatting with store owner Eileen McGervey and other customers, and bought 15 children books as holiday gifts. The president subsequently issued a message on his Twitter account urging others to observe “Small Business Saturday, after only a couple years now a new holiday shopping tradition on the Saturday following Thanksgiving. Last year, the President visited the locally-owned Kramerbooks and Afterwords Cafe in the DuPont Circle area of Washington, D.C.
