Mason JV Field Hockey Falls to Potomac, 0-2

The George Mason High School girls JV field hockey club team played its last game of a hard-fought season last Saturday against a Potomac Field Hockey team.

The Mustangs started off strong, dominating much of the first 25-minute half. But their opponents were eager to fight back and scored the first goal of the match. Keeping their energy at a maximum, the Mason girls battled relentlessly to get it back.

In the second half, Mason took multiple offensive corners, getting the ball close to the goal each time.

“We took one corner and another one bounced right back” sophomore Gabe Brown said. Mason gave up another goal, and ended its season with a 0-2 loss.

The JV team looks forward to next year, with hopes of a winning season as the field hockey program continues to grow at George Mason.
