Victim of F.C. House Fire Identified

The victim of last Monday’s fatal house fire on Orland Street in Falls Church has been identified as Christopher Lewis, a 62-year-old resident of the home.

Fairfax Fire and Rescue Department units responded to the house fire in the early morning of Oct. 29, and encountered a two-story Cape Cod-style home fully involved with fire upon arrival.

Firefighters conducted an exterior fire attack due to the overwhelming volume of fire throughout the structure. The second floor collapsed inside the home. Firefighters brought the fire under control in approximately 20 minutes. Firefighters reported hoarding conditions inside the home. As fire investigators were digging out the fire, they discovered a deceased body. The home was a complete loss.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death. According to fire investigators, the cause of the fire is undetermined.
