The George Mason High School varsity football team suffered another loss last Friday, against Madison County High School, to bring the Mustang squad to 0-5 in a season that won’t get easier with this week’s competition.
The Mustangs will take on the undefeated Strasburg High School Rams Friday at home.
“We are working hard on correcting our mistakes and getting ready for a very good Strasburg team coming to town on Friday night,” Coach Tony Green said.
Mason played stronger in its second half at Madison County, but couldn’t overtake the Mountaineers. The final score was 33-7; Madison County improved its season record to 3-2.
Following Friday’s game against Strasburg, the Mustangs will take on the John Champe High School Knights. The Knights match Mason’s 0-5 record this season, but will play the Manassas Park High School Cougars before making their way to George Mason High School Oct. 12.
