City of Falls Church Farmers’ Market Racks Up Accolades

The City of Falls Church Farmers’ Market recently earned both local and national accolades for its quality and variety of vendors as well as its role in promoting local food sources within the community.

The Farmers’ Market was voted No. 3 of medium-size markets across the country in the 2012 America’s Favorite Farmers Market contest sponsored by the American Farmland Trust. The Falls Church Farmers Market also took the third spot amongst all markets in Virginia.

In Northern Virginia Magazine’s 2012 Best of NoVA listings, voted on by readers of the magazine, the Farmers’ Market beat out all other area markets to be named Best Farmers Market.

The City’s Farmers Market also nabbed the Best Farmers Market title in Virginia Living Magazine’s Best of Virginia 2012 issue and was honored by Rodale.com, a lifestyle website, as one of the best farmers’ markets in the country.

The Falls Church Farmers’ Market is open every Saturday morning in the parking lot of Falls Church City Hall, 300 Park Ave., and is sponsored by the Falls Church Recreation and Parks Department. For more information about the market, call 703-248-5027 or visit fallschurchva.gov/FarmersMarket.
