Virginians for the Arts has announced that Creative Cauldron is the recipient of the 2012 “Rising Star” award for Northern Virginia.

The ArtStars Awards recognize two arts organizations in each of five regions of Virginia that best demonstrate the ability to “enhance communities, lift our spirits, and build a better quality of life.”

Winners of the Dominion ArtStars Awards are selected by a panel of judges from around Virginia based upon specific criteria, including extraordinary impact on the community; successful community partnerships; proficiency in garnering business, legislative, and local community support; contribution to K-12 education; and sustained excellence through the years. The “Rising Star” award is presented to an arts organization that has been in existence for 10 years or less.
