F.C. Runner Earns National Junior Olympics Title

runnerRheinhardt Harrison, an 8-year-old from Falls Church City, recently captured the gold medal for the Sub-Bantam Boys (ages 7 – 8 years) 800 meter race at the USA Track & Field National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships held at Morgan State University July 23 – 29.

Rheinhardt outran 46 other competitors from around the nation with a winning time of 2:39.01. He also earned All-American honors by finishing in the top 8 of the 1500 meter race. In winning the 800 meter event, Rheinhardt becomes the first USATF National Junior Olympic champion representing the Fairfax Police Youth Club. He will continue to represent the FPYC this fall while running cross country. Additionally, he has now earned a total of three National Champion titles and four All-American honors in 2012.
