City to Host Hazardous Waste Collection Sept. 29

Household hazardous waste will be accepted free of charge from City of Falls Church residents on Sept. 29. The Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event will be held from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the City’s Recycling Center, located at 217 Gordon Road, near the intersection of Shreve Road and Broad Street in Falls Church.

City residents (with proof of residency) may drop off items including: acids, antifreeze, bug sprays, button batteries, rechargeable batteries, gasoline, compact or tube fluorescent bulbs, floor care products, mercury products, motor oil, oil-based paint and stain, oven cleaner, paint thinner, pesticides, poisons, pool chemicals, rug cleaners, solvent-based glue. Residents are asked to bring items in original containers, if possible.
