“A Life of Art: Memorial Retrospective of Margaret W. Fisher” will be exhibited in the Crossroads Gallery through Sept. 30. A reception open to the public will be held Aug. 19 at 4 p.m., at which friends and family will discuss the artist, who died June 7.
Margaret (Peggy) Fisher was an artist, poet, and teacher for more than 60 years. She taught art for more than five decades through Arlington Adult Education, Northern Virginia Community College and numerous community service programs. Fisher taught private and group art lessons, and conducted watercolor workshops in Maine, Mexico, and Ireland.
Fisher’s earlier work centered on landscapes and portraits. She used painting as a means to integrate into the community, serve those in need, and promote her love of nature and humanity. Inspired by her travels, her later work focused on nature and wildlife subjects.
