Snyder Assails McDonnell Move on N.Va. Transportation

The City of Falls Church’s representative on three regional transportation-related bodies, Vice Mayor David Snyder, assailed reported plans by Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell to by-pass regional bodies to send state transportation funds directly to localities.

“It is an outrageous bullying tactic from Richmond for no constructive reason, whatsoever,” Snyder told the News-Press Wednesday. “It is unacceptable to threaten a cutoff to disrupt the region’s ability to function in a constructive way.” Snyder serves on the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission, the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority and the D.C. Metro Region Transportation Planning Board.
