Giant Food to Award Nearly $2M to Local Schools

Giant Food is presenting nearly $2 million to local schools in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Delaware as a result of its 2011-12 A+ School Rewards program.

Area schools to receive awards are McLean High School ($12,409.80), St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes School ($7,457.61), Langley High School ($6,560.36), Spring Hill Elementary School ($6,387.86), and Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology ($6,136.32). Throughout Virginia, 678 schools will receive more than $704,600.

The A+ School Rewards program is linked to shoppers’ Giant cards. Shoppers can earn points for all in-store purchases and designate up to two schools to benefit from their purchases.
