News-Press, Diener Hail Food Drive Launch

The 20th anniversary of the annual Falls Church News-Press and Diener and Associates, CPAs, co-sponsored food drive kicked off on Memorial Day with one of the largest volumes of contributions ever, it was announced yesterday. Using shopping bags provided in all News-Press home deliveries in the 22046 zip code, scores of citizens showed up at the News-Press booth at the Memorial Day Festival Monday with canned and other non-perishable food. Diener and Associates, delivering the food to the Food for Others, Inc., in Merrifield yesterday, reported that 123 pounds was contributed.

The drive continues through July 4, with drop-off boxes in numerous downtown Falls Church locations: the News-Press office, 200 Little Falls, Suite 508, Diener and Associates, 125 Rowell Court, Anthony’s Restaurant, 309 W. Broad St., The Unity Club, 120 W. Broad St., Point of View Eyewear, 701 W. Broad St., Falls Church Community Center, 223 Little Falls St., Falls Church Art and Frame, 111 Park Avenue.
