F.C. City Native Glen Dale Hood II Dies

Glen Dale Hood II died April 27, 2012, in Claremont, Calif. He was born May 29, 1954.

Glen Hood, who was called Butch, Boots, or Poppie by his friends and family, grew up in the City of Falls Church. He attended Thomas Jefferson Elementary School, graduated from George Mason Jr.-Sr. High School in 1973 and attended LaGrange College in Georgia. He excelled in varsity basketball and continued to play basketball until last year. He was active in his church and actively involved in work and served on the Utilities Commission in Claremont, Calif.

Glen was no stranger to golf and played every Friday on his day off. He loved to garden and brag about his wife’s delicious meals.

Glen had an incredible energy and genuine positive attitude. Glen knew no strangers. Making friends easily, this humble and truly grateful man was thankful for the life he had with his family and the time spent on this earth. Glen leaves behind his wife, Claudia, of 22 years; step-daughter Heather; four grandkids, Amanda, William, Porter, Jimmy and one great-grandson, Aiden; and his sister, Glenda, who resides in Falls Church.
