The Washington Capitals visited the Huskies of Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School on Tuesday as part of the Washington Capitals Hockey School program. The program introduced students to past Capitals players and their trusty mascot Slapshot.
The assembly began with an informal Q&A session where kids asked questions about their NHL experience and the most popular topic of conversation: penalty minutes.
As part of the program, MEH was named an Official Capitals Hockey School and all of the equipment used during the assembly was donated to the school in order to continue teaching the game of hockey to kids.
