City of Falls Church to Host Bike to Work Day Pit Stop

The City of Falls Church will participate in Bike to Work Day 2012 on May 18, a regional event that drew a record-breaking 11,000 participants last year. The City is one of the only local governments to offer two Pit Stop shifts: 6:30 – 9 a.m. for the morning commute and 4:30 – 7 p.m. for the ride home. The Pit Stop will be at Tricentennial Park on the Washington and Old Dominion Trail at Grove Avenue. Riders can enjoy free food, beverages, and giveaways, along with entertainment and more.

Registration is now open via the official Bike to Work Day website, which interested riders can get to by visiting fallschurchva.gov/BTWD. The first 11,000 bicyclists who register and attend will receive a free Bike to Work Day T-shirt and become eligible to win prizes. Registration is free but closes Thursday.

Businesses interested in sponsoring the City of Falls Church Pit Stop through donations of in-kind goods or monetary support should contact Wendy Block Sanford at wblocksanford@fallschurchva.gov or 703-248-5041.
