VDOT has announced that the Lee Highway (Rt. 29) and Gallows Road intersection in Merrifield will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, April 27, to mid-afternoon Sunday, April 29, for crews to repave the intersection as part of the area’s ongoing $110 million construction project.

All businesses along Lee Highway and Gallows will remain accessible through detours that can be used following signs posted in the area. The project will be completed in November and includes widening and improving the intersection, constructing dual left-turn lanes on Rt. 29 and Gallows, a sidewalk, shared-use path and landscaped medians.
