Longtime F.C. Resident, Artist Marti Arnold Dies at Age 83

Martha “Marti” Arnold passed away Feb. 21 at the Powhatan Nursing Home in Falls Church. She was 83 and had been a Falls Church resident since 1955.

An accomplished artist, Marti showed paintings and prints at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, the Vienna Art Society, and the McLean Art League. She was also a master gardener and area garden club member.

Marti and her late husband, Delbert, travelled extensively. Marti wrote the children’s book Alaska, Uncle Jim, and Me based on their Alaska travels.

Marti is survived by her sons, Forest and Jeff, their wives, three grandchildren, and numerous friends. A memorial service will be held at the Falls Church Senior Center on Sunday, April 16.
