W&OD Trail Run 5K Set for Sunday; Roads to be Closed

The fourth annual Walter L. Mess W&OD Trail Run 5K race will kick off Sunday at 4 p.m., and run from Little Falls Street to Shreve Road and back on Washington and Old Dominion Trail, starting and finishing at American Legion Post 130, 400 N. Oak St., Falls Church.

The cost to participate is $35, with a discount offered to members of participating organizations and students.

The race will involve rolling road closures in the City of Falls Church. The Police Department will manage the road closures from 3:45 p.m. to 5 p.m. Roads will be open to local traffic, but vehicles may be asked to wait as race participants run through. Road affected by the rolling closures are Spring Street at the W&OD, Great Falls Street at the W&OD, West Street at the W&OD, and Grove Street at the W&OD.
