Longfellow Middle Schoolers Win Va. Science Bowl

Five eighth-grade students from Longfellow Middle School in Falls Church won the Virginia Regional Middle School Science Bowl Competition sponsored by the Department of Energy, held at the Jefferson Lab in Newport News on March 3. The same five students competed together last year as seventh graders and won fifth place at nationals.

The students – Ross Dempsey, Ryan Golant, Kunal Naik, Keaton Lee and Tarun Kamath – accompanied by their coach/teacher sponsor, Jim Bradford, will be representing Virginia at the four-day national competition held in Washington, D.C. April 26-30.
