F.C. Council Denies Appeal for Delay on Affordable Housing Action

The Falls Church City Council voted 4-0 tonight to designate $283,500 in the City’s Affordable Housing Fund for first time home buyer assistance against the recommendation of the F.C.Housing Corporation to delay the action pending further deliberation.

Steven Sprague of the Housing Corporation appealed to the Council for more time to discuss whether using the funds for purchase or rental of housing units, or for more permanent structures. Sprague said that a series of active meetings of his group have been underway to develop a consensus on how to best move forward.
