Relay for Life Kickoff Set for Feb. 29 at Famous Dave’s

The Relay For Life of Falls Church will hold a kickoff event Wednesday from 5 – 7 p.m. at Famous Dave’s Barbecue, 370 W. Broad St., Falls Church.

Interested persons will be able to find out more about how they can participate in the sixth annual Relay For Life of Falls Church, which will be held the night of Saturday, June 2, on the track at George Mason High School.

Over the past five years, Relay For Life of Falls Church has raised several hundred thousand dollars to support the American Cancer Society’s fight against the disease. In the coming months, local residents will organize teams to raise funds for the event, which also honors cancer survivors and remembers those who have lost their lives to the disease.

Famous Dave’s will contribute to the effort by donating 10 percent of its receipts between the hours of 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. on Wednesday from patrons who present a qualifying flyer. The flyer can be downloaded at fallschurchrelay.org.

Already two dozen teams with nearly 100 participants have signed up for this year’s Relay. For more information, visit fallschurchrelay.org.
