Critter Corner: Sunny and Cher

critterSunny and Cher are two adopted NoVa dogs much beloved by their owner.

After her dog, Butterball, had to be put to sleep after 15.5 years, Daphne Martinez said no more dogs. As the house grew quiet, however, she started looking for dogs at shelters. Though she was looking for a smaller dog, she ended up adopting Sunny (short for Sunshine), who weighs in at almost 90 pounds, from Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA). A few months later, she adopted Cher, who weighed in at around 60 pounds. Both are Australian cattle dog mixes. Cher loves to be petted and sleep in laps, and Sunny loves to lick and would love to be a lap dog if he weren’t so big.
