F.C. Resident, Poet Dies at 69

Len Rinaldi, Sr., a Falls Church resident and poet, died Dec. 15, 2011. He was 69 years old.

Rinaldi was born in the Bronx, New York, in February 1942, and was retired from his work with NYC Health and Hospitals Corp.

Since 1994 he has been an active poet in creation of various poems to share with family, friends and the world.

His works of poetry included 13 editions of his self-published “Words of Wisdom in Verse;” one edition fo “Wisdom Shared in Poetic Verse,” published by Publish America; poems appearing in 28 anthologies by the Library of Congress; and five poems for the Smithsonian Institution.

A celebration of life in his memory will be held on Thursday, Dec. 29, at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 905 Park Ave., Falls Church. A reception will follow at Anthony’s Restaurant, 309 W. Broad Street, Falls Church. Those attending are invited to bring pictures of Len Rinaldi and words to share.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. James Catholic Church and/or the Wounded Warrior Project at 1120 G St. NW, Suite 700, Washington, D.C., 20005.
