Local Children Make Military Christmas Stockings

IMG_4603Students in the Morning Star program, sponsored by the group Hispanics Against Child Abuse and Neglect, recently received a donation that allowed them to make hundreds of Christmas stockings to be distributed at military bases in the area. Students in the program meet on Saturday mornings at Woodrow Wilson Library.

Wendy Marquez, 13, of Falls Church, is pictured above with her camo stocking at last Saturday’s workshop to create the stockings. Wendy plans to attend Ft. Belvoir this Friday to represent the Culmore area children involved when the stockings are distributed. (Photo: Courtesy H.A.C.A.N.)
