No, aliens are not invading the Little City. The gallons of green goo that infiltrated Tripps Run today were a result of a dye test by the City of Falls Church contractor as part of an ongoing sanitary sewer investigation. The contractor is using a fluorescent green (Acid Yellow No. 73) for tracing sanitary sewer problems. The water soluble dye may turn up in adjacent downstream storm sewers, inlets, ditches, and streams from the area of immediate testing.

Earlier this evening, city resident Parker Chapman captured this photo of the green-stained creek by Thomas Jefferson Elementary School on Sherrow Ave.
