MEH Students Campaign for Change in Politics Project

Seventh grade students at Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School put their civics studies into practice last week with their annual political campaign project. Students created their own political parties, and developed platforms, advertising, and polling. They nominated a presidential candidate who gave a campaign speech.

Campaign ideas to improve the school included: more playground equipment, a pod message board, increased breakfast options, and a program to foster positive relationships between fifth and seventh graders. Funding to enact the winning campaign projects is being provided by the MEHMS PTA.
